Of course, the most popular cat breed also known as ‘naked cats’ are the sphynx cats. These felines are sweet and lovely, and most importantly wonderful companions. Even though they may have a look that comes across as evil or aggressive, sphynx cats are far from that. They are some of the most loving cat breeds that enjoy spending time with humans and are very friendly.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that some Sphynx cats are not completely hairless – they do have some fur that may feel like velvet when you touch it. It can even show some patterns.

2. Donskoy

These cats are more wrinkled than sphynx cats and represent a mix of Siamese with Peterbald cat breeds. Donskoy cats can be distinguished due to their webbed toes, but other than that they are very loving cats. Donskoy cats have a sweet and loving nature.

3. Peterbald cats

Another cat breed that is known for the lack of hair or fur is Peterbald. These cats are similar to the sphynx cats but they have a more dominant gene that governs the hairless trait. Moreover, Peterbald cats may have different types of coats – bald or barely fuzzy and a more delicate bone structure than Sphynx cats.

4. Minskin cats

A mix of a Munchkin cat with a Sphynx cat results in beautiful Minskin cats. These cute felines with short legs are outgoing and affectionate and wonderful pets. Minskin cats also have some short hair around their eyes, ears, tail, and also around legs.

5. Elf Cat

Its name points to the fact that the distinguishable feature of these cats is the ears. The elf cats are a mix of Sphynx cats with American curl and other than the ears there aren’t many differences between these cats. Elf cats are very affectionate and friendly cats.

How to Take Care of Hairless Cats

Some of the most important things to remember when caring for hairless cats are that they have sensitive skin because there is no hair or fur to protect it. Therefore, you have to make sure to bathe your cat at least once a week and have in mind that they are sensitive to temperatures. Both cold and sun can harm them so you need to take care of them during the warm summer days and cold winter.

Some hairless cats don’t have eyelashes which means that they can get more dirt in their eyes. Make sure to clean their eyes often and properly with a wet cloth and do that gently.

Even though they may be high-maintenance cats they are definitely worth the trouble as they will make it up to you with their love and affection.
