Cat gets a second chance for life by getting 4 bionic paws
A cat getting bionic paws?! This definitely sounds unbelievable, but fortunately it did happen.
A Russian cat called Ryzhik lost her paws in Syberia. The extremely low temperatures caused her feet to freeze and soon after to lose her paws.
Normally, when this happens in Russia, cats are being put down because there is no way to be treated.
But, this lucky cat got the opportunity to walk again with bionic paws.
The bionic paws are made with 3D modelling and using a sophisticated computer tomography. Ryzhik is the first cat in the world, not only in Russia, to get this implants.
“He is definitely the first cat in the world who experienced such surgeries. The limbs have fully connected with the skin and bone” – says the Russian vet Sergey Gorshkov.
Now, Ryzhik has a whole process of learning how to walk again. It is not easy for him, but at least he has a chance for life.
Watch this video to see how this cute cat learns to walk again. Also, you can see that the vet is optimistic that she will walk again on her own without any problems.
Another interesting fact is that this clinic where the surgery was performed is trying to patent a technique of attaching artificial limbs to birds.
